Throughout 2017, grade 6 and 7 math enthusiasts gathered weekly in the library to collaborate with others over complex math problems.  In March, these 24 students wrote the Mathematica Centrum contest.

 

Ten Grade 6 students wrote the Pythagoras contest. Honorable mention goes to Jay who was the top winner at our school with a score of 49/50, placing him 14th out of 18 841 students in Canada! Special mention goes to Harry, Jayden, Vincent and Will who all appeared on the Mathematica Honour Roll.  Nathan, Halle, Sarah, Samridhi and Joseph also contributed to our school ranking of 20 out of 874 schools!

 

The Grade 7 students wrote the Euler contest.  Daniel wrote a perfect test, placing first out of 7506 students in Canada. Qianxu and Ishaan also made the Honour Roll.  Jessica, Michelle, Mohab, Mitra, Arnav, Yash, Luke, Tina, Matthew, Hana, and Waleed, helped earn us a school ranking of 18th out of 383 schools!
We are very proud of the effort that went into this result. We look forward to working together again throughout 2017/2018!
