On Monday November 14th, the Elementary Progress Reports will be distributed to all students in grades 1 to 7.

The Elementary Progress Report Card shows students’ development of Learning Skills and Work Habits, as well as their general progress in the subject areas, during the fall of the school year.  The Elementary Progress Report Card is a communication tool for teachers to provide feedback for students and parents/guardians regarding progress, not achievement. This means that the evidence of learning that guides reporting will be formative, rather than summative.

If you have not already received communication, included with the Progress Report will be information about the process for communicating with teachers about your son / daughter’s progress thus far this school year.  Unfortunately, we will not be able to schedule interviews for all teachers using the School Day scheduling format (although some individual teachers may still use this format). Vista Hills staff looks forward to building on our ongoing commitment to work with our community to continue to grow and enhance the learning experience for all of our students.

Included in the envelope with the Progress Report will be information on our Character Development program – the HERO / GEM attributes, as well as a flyer promoting an upcoming opportunity for parents to attend a Digital Learning Symposium entitled “Families in a Digital World ~ a Digital Citizenship Summit” which is being held on Saturday November 26th at Bluevale Collegiate in Waterloo.  We hope to have great representation from Vista Hills at that day being organized by the WRDSB.
