Here are the plans for our first-ever day at Vista Hills! Parents are welcome to join us! Please walk if it is at all possible! If you drive tomorrow . . . please park further down Lady Slipper Drive and NOT near Dew Drop Crescent. Please avoid parking on Sweet Gale Street, as well.
As soon as students arrive they will be encouraged to gather on the full soccer field and find their teacher and class line – all teachers will be holding a sign with their name and class on it. As soon as all buses arrive we will be lead to the front of the school, by a professional drum line called 416 BEATS. They will lead us to the flag pole area where we will organize from grade one through to grade seven.
We will have our flag raised for the first time by our oldest and youngest students in the school, and O Canada will be sung by one of our Vista Hills Hawks. Mr. Oberle will say a few words and invite all special guests present to cut the ribbons on the front door. The drum line will play students and teachers in to the school, and parents will wave goodbye!
All classes will also have a ribbon cutting ceremony at their classroom door when they arrive!
Looking forward to everyone enjoying the hard work of our contractors, facilities staff, custodial staff, and Vista Hills staff – it is a beautiful school that we can all be proud of!
