Vista Hills Hawks are HEROES! And it’s time for us to fight against hunger.
Hunger is a super-villain who makes life harder for many families in our community. For a child struggling with hunger, one meal could make a difference in having the energy to succeed in school or in staying healthy.
Each year 5 million pounds of emergency food is distributed from The Food Bank of Waterloo Region to neighbours in our community. People seek food assistance because of unexpected job loss, physical or mental health concerns, or other crises. Half of those households seeking assistance are families with children.
The most needed items are • Peanut Butter • Canned Fruit & Vegetables • Canned Meat & Fish • Canned Stews & Chili • Beans in Sauce
No one should have to go hungry. Please help by bringing in canned food items starting today for our local food bank to make sure everyone in our community can stand up to hunger. Our school goal is to collect 1,000 cans by November 1st.
