In support of our daily affirmation for September, “Vista Hills Hawks are HEROs. We Give Other GEMs everyday,” the Vista Hills community will celebrate SAY HI Day as part of our first HERO/GEM assembly. Members of the SAY HI Day regional committee and members of the Waterloo Region Crime Prevention Council, will be present on Thursday to add to our HOPE assembly celebration.
At the start of the day, we look forward to having special guests WRDSB Trustees Kathleen Woodcock and Carol Millar, as well as Superintendent of Education for VH – Elaine Ranney, present to welcome students, staff and parents to start our special day, and connecting to the VH community by just saying HI and WELCOME TO SCHOOL!
AND . . . we invite our PARENTS and their child(ren) to stop by on Wednesday at the end of the school day, or Thursday at the start of the school day, to write “HI” in your native language or second language using the sidewalk chalk that will be available! We are excited to see all the languages spoken in the VH community represented! See Grade 7 student volunteers on the tarmac for your piece of sidewalk chalk.
